Mr. Miller practices exclusively as a management-side labor and employment attorney, representing both public and private sector employers. Mr. Miller represents clients in virtually every aspect of the employer/employee relationship including labor-management relations, collective bargaining negotiations, labor arbitrations and union organizing campaigns, personnel and human resource consultations, claims of discrimination and other general employment matters. Mr. Miller counsels clients on employee terminations, layoffs and compliance with the highly regulated areas of public and private sector employment law. He also counsels clients on matters related to the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and various other State and Federal Laws impacting the workplace. Mr. Miller represents clients in administrative proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board and various State and local agencies. Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area, Rich attended Washington & Jefferson College and Duquesne University School of Law. Rich volunteers his time annually to provide pro bono services to the Neighborhood Legal Services Association. Rich has written a number of articles on labor and employment topics for various statewide publications and is a frequent speaker for such organizations including the Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities, the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania, the Local Government Academy, the Pennsylvania Borough's Association, the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association, the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, the Government Finance Officers Association, the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Commissioners, and the Association of Pennsylvania Municipal Managers.
