The Pennsylvania Municipal League’s Newly Elected Officials Training Seminar has been recognized for over thirty years as the premier training for municipal elected officials in the essentials of labor and employment law, public finance, practical municipal management, compliance with the PA Ethics Act and optimally working with Commonwealth Agencies. The Municipal League and Campbell Durrant, P.C. are asking that you forward this invitation and the attached February 2-3 Seminar Agenda to your newly elected officials so that they can optimize their onboarding process by attending the below trainings:

  • Labor and Employment training from Campbell Durrant attorneys Pat Harvey and John McLaughlin of everything elected officials should know about municipal labor and employment law.

  • Practical Municipal Management and Leadership Guidance from League Director and former Mayor John Brenner, Lancaster Mayor Danene Sorace and Harris Township Manger, Amy Farkas.

  • Ethics Act Training from State Ethics Commission Counsel Jeffrey Frakenburger.

  • Fiscal Management Strategies from Allegheny Township Manager Greg Primm.

  • What Every Municipal Official Needs to Know Training from Public Financial Management CFO John Molloy.

  • State Agency Starter Kit Training from the Department of Community and Economic Development, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Department of Environmental Protection, Department of General Services and Department of Transportation.

Though 2020 may be behind us, employers in 2021 will continue to confront issues presented by the Covid-19 pandemic due to the high infection rate, Commonwealth mitigation orders still in effect, and the slow roll out of vaccines. Municipalities must consider how to handle the availability of vaccines and the benefits, risks, and unknowns of requiring or encouraging a vaccinated workforce. Join attorneys Pat Harvey and Josh Hausman to discuss whether you can and whether you should mandate vaccines, whether you can require employees to document vaccinations, and how to handle religious and ADA accommodation requests, along with a discussion of Covid-19 related leave issues which are expected to continue throughout 2021.

Presented by Patrick J. Harvey, Esq. & Josh C. Hausman, Esq.
